Neil is the Service Line Head of Corporate Advisory based in PPB’s Sydney office.Background and significant appointmentsNeil commenced his insolvency career in February 1979 and has accumulated nearly 30 years experience. 1986 &1987 were spent in London gaining valuable experience in overseas markets.
Neil’s area of practice is principally around corporate insolvency and reconstruction. He has acted informally as Advisor to Lenders and Corporates and accepted appointment as Receiver, Administrator and Liquidator.
Neil has also been involved in overseeing the development of the firm’s corporate advisory practice in Sydney. In recent years he has conducted due diligence assignments in relation to a number of company floats and provided advice in relation to company restructures and capital raisings.
Some of Neil’s higher profile corporate appointments in recent years include Enron Limited, Sydney Kings and Annuka Beach Resort.
Industry experience and specialised expertiseAfter 30 years of corporate recovery practice, and having been enmeshed in the last significant economic downturn, Neil has had exposure to a wide range of industry and businesses of differing types and sizes. Interesting assignments have included the Hospitality & Leisure (Pubs, Resorts and Clubs), Agribusiness (Cattle, Cotton), Resources (Coal) and Financial Services Industries.
Neil has achieved academic accreditation in the Superannuation Industry and has undertaken many Acting Trusteeships for APRA.
Neil was previously a member of the Editorial Panel of the Journal of Banking and Finance Law and Practice and has presented papers at various insolvency related seminars and conferences.
